This Privacy Policy describes how Dreamify ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our dream journal mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address
• Password (encrypted)
• Account creation date

Voice Recordings

• Audio recordings of your dream descriptions
• Stored securely in cloud storage (Digital Ocean Spaces)
• Only accessible by you through your account

Dream Data

• Transcribed text from your voice recordings (using Apple Speech Recognition)
• AI-generated dream analysis (when you choose to analyze a dream)
• Dream tags and titles you create
• Recording dates and times

Subscription Information

• Subscription status (managed through RevenueCat and Apple's App Store)
• We do not store your payment information - this is handled by Apple

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain our service
• To improve our service and user experience
• To provide AI analysis when requested
• To manage subscriptions for premium features

3. Data Storage

Voice Recordings: Stored securely in Digital Ocean Spaces with encryption.

Dream Metadata: Stored in our secure database, including transcriptions, analysis, tags, and dates.

User Account Data: Stored in our secure database with encrypted passwords.

4. Third-Party Services

Apple Speech Recognition

We use Apple's Speech Recognition framework to transcribe your voice recordings.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions.

OpenAI (AI Dream Analysis)

Dreamify offers optional AI-powered dream analysis.

When a user chooses to analyze a dream, the transcription text of the dream may be sent to OpenAI, a third-party artificial intelligence service, in order to generate dream insights.

The data sent to OpenAI includes only the text transcription of the dream. No personal identifiers such as email address, account information, or device identifiers are included.

This data is transmitted securely and used solely to generate AI analysis results which are returned to the user in the app.

Dreamify only sends this data after the user explicitly grants permission through an in-app consent dialog.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

When you request AI analysis, dream transcription text may be transmitted to OpenAI solely for the purpose of generating dream insights.

6. Your Rights

Access Your Data

You can access all your dream recordings and transcriptions through the app at any time.

Delete Your Data

You can delete individual dreams or your entire account through the app settings. When you delete your account:

• Your user account is permanently deleted from our database
• All dream metadata is permanently deleted from our database
• All voice recordings are permanently deleted from cloud storage
• This action is irreversible

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted password storage, and secure cloud storage with access controls.
